Easy to use Patron Interfaces with Integrated iPAC

L4U iPAC goes hand in hand with L4U Library Software enabling an unlimited number of patrons to search your library catalog from anywhere!

This software will support an unlimited number of concurrent connections to your L4U database. These connections can be made using any standard HTML browser allowing your patrons unprecedented access to your libraries catalog and enabling your patrons to search your collection from anywhere. No third party software required.

Installing and configuring L4U iPAC is quick and easy. There are no confusing libraries or CGI scripts that must be loaded. L4U handles it all for you automatically.

L4U iPAC provides the administrator with the power to decide whether to enable or disable features from our full suite of functions from our Library Automation Software such as Renewals, Reserves or Advanced Bookings. Allow patrons to view their account information, activity, items out, items overdue, historical data and much more!

• Customizable Interface Options - Each location can choose from several included interface designs allowing libraries to provide a search interface that is congruent with the age of their patrons.
• Default Settings - Each location can choose the default library to be searched by their patrons.
• Restriction Settings - Each location can choose to allow patrons access to one, multiple or all locations.
• Intuitive Design - Simple Layout and Design allows the Patron to easily find the desired information. For example: Additional record details can be seen simply by hovering the mouse over the item. Patrons can perform a search from any page, sort results with a click of the mouse, jump to page and cutomize the number of results shown per page options and much much more

• Spell Checking - Automatic spell checking in the search making it quicker for the patron to find the resources they are looking for.
• Suggested Searches - Alternative search suggestions based upon the original search provide patrons with more resources to choose from.
• Suggested Similar Authors When Patrons do Author searches, L4U analyzes the author searched on and can make suggestions for other Authors that have similar subject matter.
• Reserve and Renewal Privileges - Allow or disallow patrons to place Reserves or Renewals based upon user login settings.
• Advanced Searching Capabilities provides Patrons with more complex search options. This includes the ability to do very specific, or between searches and the ability to search multiple topics at one time.
• Email Search Results - Allow patrons or teachers to email bibliographic reports.
• Patron Profile Page - Patrons can view a detailed summary of their activity, Reserved Items ready for pick up, Items out and/or overdue, Items on reserve and much more in their 'My Profile' page.
• Federated Searching - Search subscription databases simultaneously while searching the catalogue.
• Rate Items - If enabled by the Administrator Patrons can rate the items in the library out of 5 stars.

L4U CheckMARC Cataloging Software

With L4U's CheckMARC cataloging software, you can obtain complete MARC records and bookcovers in seconds. There is no need to be a MARC expert. The complete MARC record and bookcover are saved in a single click!

L4U CheckMARC is an online subscription service and database designed to compliment our L4U Library Automation Software. Containing over 1 million fields of searchable content, CheckMARC will increase the speed and efficiency of your MARC record cataloging.

The CheckMARC records are in original MARC format, and are derived from actual school content, including over 50,000 French records. Records can be searched by 6 different criteria, including Title, ISBN, Author, Publisher, NLC, LCCN, or all fields simultaneously. Once the appropriate record has been found, the MARC Record can be easily downloaded into your L4U Acquisitions File.

With the CheckMARC Platinum subscription, there is no per record fee. The annual subscription allows librarians to download as many records as needed, via their internet connection

Instant Online MARC Searching!

With L4U CheckMARC, searching for MARC records is now even easier by facilitating online record retrieval simultaneously from the Library of Congress, Amazon and the CheckMARC subscription database.

You can retrieve records by entering any one, or a combination of a number of fields into your L4U acquisition screen, i.e. ISBN, Title, Author.
