Kelowna Software Ltd. started in 1986, when a librarian approached us with a dilemma. At that time, Library Automation Software was quite difficult to find, and the librarian wanted a management system that would circulate books and print overdues. On that note, we began developing software and the evolution of what is now known to the world as Library 4 Universal™ (L4U) had begun. Since its incorporation, Kelowna Software has never represented or manufactured any software applications other than the Library 4 Universal™ product line.

Our Library software solution is an award winning product, which operates identically in both the Windows and Macintosh environments. Our motto is "Library Automation Made Easy" and we provide just that at comparatively affordable pricing. This has been achieved through the effective implementation of several customer service initiatives. One of our boldest steps taken towards simplifying library automation decisions was to eliminate the use of modular based pricing structures. Experience had taught us that modular based pricing structures are deceptive, often hiding the actual costs of automating a library. This can leave a library and its staff with a system that is not adequately suited to meet their needs. Library 4 Universal™ (L4U) is a totally integrated software package.
