Software Engineer

Kelowna Software Ltd., the largest supplier of Library Automation software in Canada, is seeking to add a Software Developer to our Development Team in Kelowna, BC. We provide a competitive salary and benefits package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities;

• Participates in estimating project timelines and resources, reviews progress, and adjusts schedule and scope.
• Identifies technical, schedule, and other project risks
• Prepares detailed design of client-side and server-side application components.
• Communicates, through presentation, component designs to others on the project team.
• Develops high-quality code for client-side and server-side application components that is reusable, easy to maintain and easy to troubleshoot.
• Develops install packages and scripts for products.
• Debugs and tests components.
• Participates in the review of peers’ work product, designs, and code.
• Conducts maintenance programming for shipping products.
• Researches new software development platforms and tools, report findings and train peers as needed.
• Applies Kelowna Software\'s programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
• Maintains confidentiality of company’s source code, product designs, and other proprietary and strategic information.
• Other duties as assigned.
